The Central Kansas Yarn Hop is on the map, passports to this event are on sale and let the trip planning begins! Have you rounded up a couple friends who knit or crochet or need to, for a road trip adventure? Have you purchased your passport? This a great excuse to not only see the trees change color but to see and squish new yarn then have the opportunity to check out a new knit and crochet patterns at each yarn shop just for the Hop. Yarnsters are the best people to hang out with and to make new friends with.
Once you purchase your passport, you have from Tuesday, Oct. 17-Sunday Oct. 22, to visit each unique shop. For this event each LYS’s may have different hours for your convenience, your passport has that information.
No big surprise that I’m going to park this blog at The Creation Station in Newton. We would love to see every one of you! Purchase your five dollar passport (cash please) from us early and save a dollar (they are six bucks during the event). We want to make sure everyone gets their passport.
We have so much new yarn to show off, Cascade new 220 merino superwash worsted, Incan Spice, Drifter DK, Cartwheel, new colors in Melilla, Queensland Tide, and so much more…
We have oodles of yarn for each traveler to drool over- fingering to new chunky yarn plus everything in between. My favorite is the Roslyn wool and silk blend with a bit of texture. It knits gorgeously and looks a bit rustic. Or maybe it’s the Incan Spice that I am making a Fair Isle hat in- fine merino, silk, alpaca, and Yak- the best feeling ever.
Catherine finished her beautiful tunic out of Anchor Bay, a 50% superwash merino wool and 50% cotton. It is a Fall into Spring garment that will be perfect for those gentle cool nights as well as when winter hits us hard. The color is in Scarlet, and we have many more colors. Pick your color and get crocheting.
Your passport is your gateway to see and touch new yarns across Kansas. Each store will have a unique pattern and a special yarn to go with it, think of it as Christmas gifts for this year or next. You will be able to meet the shop owners and talk to other yarnies from across the state. A bonus is that each stamp places you in drawings for door prizes from each shop, and if you go to all sixes of them, your name is in the grand prize drawing which is worth over 800.00 dollars of yarnister heaven.
This is a Grand Lark and worth the effort to grab a friend or two, get your passports from the nearest shop and get your Yarn on.
LOVE
Catherine & Rachael
